Events, Group Flights, and Special Requirements
How event-specific rules interact with everyday flight rules.
What's different about an event?
Group flights, challenges, competitions, and special operations let pilots fly together or complete a themed objective. These activities may be more restrictive than normal Delta Virtual flights.
Check the event notice
Before starting, look for any published requirements involving:
- Departure and destination airports.
- Aircraft, subfleet, or livery.
- Callsign, route, altitude, or flight type.
- Event dates and departure times.
- VATSIM, IVAO, or another network.
- Recording method or accepted-flight requirement.
Event-specific published rules apply to that activity, even though normal Delta Virtual flying follows 'Any Route, Any Aircraft, Anytime.'
Do I have to fly online?
Online ATC is optional for ordinary Delta Virtual flying. An individual event may require an online network; follow the event notice and that network's rules.
After the event
Submit your PIREP and allow time for any staff review, achievements, or event-credit processing. If credit does not appear, include your PIREP ID when asking for help.
