Protecting Your Delta Virtual Account

Practical account-security habits for pilot logins, email, and Discord.

PILOT RESOURCE / GUIDE

Keep your account secure

Your Delta Virtual account may connect to flight-tracking software, website services, DVMail, and Discord features. Treat your login details as private even when requesting help from another pilot or staff member.

Good habits

  • Use a unique, strong password rather than recycling a password from another website.
  • Keep your account email address current and protect access to that mailbox.
  • Use multifactor authentication wherever the relevant service offers it.
  • Enter credentials only on official Delta Virtual or approved service pages.
  • Avoid saving screenshots that expose authentication tokens, access keys, account recovery codes, or private personal details.
  • Sign out on shared computers and keep your browser and operating system updated.

Be cautious with support messages

Legitimate troubleshooting may involve logs, screenshots, ACARS versions, or a flight ID. It should not require posting your password publicly. If a person asks for a password or a one-time code, verify their identity through an official staff channel first.

If you suspect compromise

  1. Change the affected password through the legitimate account or provider interface if you still have access.
  2. Secure the linked email account.
  3. Notify Delta Virtual staff privately with the approximate time and what you observed.
  4. Review other accounts where you may have reused the same password.

Never publish suspected vulnerability details, access tokens, or another member's private information in a public Discord channel.
